An efficient, effective and happy Jim2 user is a well trained one!

Have you ever called a business, only to be greeted by a really grumpy person on the other end of the phone? Pretty off-putting isn’t it? Happy staff helps create a happy workplace, which improves morale and customer relationships – much better to be greeted by a cheerful voice on the end of the phone when you may be having a bad day yourself!

So where does training come into this?

Unfortunately some business owners see the cost of staff training as an expense to their business rather than an investment. It doesn’t matter what software system or equipment is used in the day to day operations of a business if the people who are using it are not confident and skilled in the operation. Efficiency is lost, accuracy is potentially an issue and staff morale can be pretty low too, leading to that grumpy person on the other end of the phone.

The business owner may lose faith in a system that his or her staff can’t confidently use, and feel that they have wasted a lot of money in changing systems – they’ve gone from a pretty ordinary system to a brilliant system, but no-one knows how to use it properly!

Sound familiar?

Think about when you first learn to drive. You take a test to obtain your learner’s permit and are issued with ‘L’ plates that allow you to drive a car under supervision. After meeting some mandatory criteria, you can take another test and are then issued with your red ‘P’ plates (in NSW), which means you are now capable of driving a car without a qualified supervisor in the passenger seat.

However, you need to spend much time practising for another 12 months before you can then take another test. If successful, you will be issued with your green ‘P’ plates, which means you are better qualified, but still have more to learn. After a further two years of practise (and hopefully improvement) you can take another test, and if successful you will obtain your full license. But even then you can always learn more – do a defensive driving course or an advanced driving course to improve your driving skills.

When your Jim2 implementation and free support period is finished, you and your staff should be able to do your job using Jim2. However, you have only made it to your red ‘P’ plates at this stage, and there is much more to learn if you want to get the maximum out of your investment.

Did you know that you can book interactive web based training with a Happen trainer?

Need a 30-minute refresher on something specific, or an hour or so on something new?

Just book a web based training session for as little or as much time as you need.

By improving the skills of their staff, businesses will significantly improve the return on their investment.
