Full Email Integration


Functionality

By far the most amazing new feature is the full Outlook style email functionality, which now supports incoming emails as well as outgoing.

 

Fully Integrated

You now have the ability to assign cardfiles, create jobs etc based on email rules, and auto link to jobs/quotes etc.  There is no need for an external email program!


Templates and Macros

Rules, conditions and actions can be applied to emails.  A new email can be automatically based on a template depending on the type of email being sent.  For example, if emailing a statement automatically use the ‘Statement’ email template.

Email templates also support the use of macros to automatically merge text.

Tagging

Emails can be tagged to Jim2® objects (Job etc), and replies etc from that email are automatically related to, and can be viewed from those objects. 

 

Ticketing and Helpdesk

This more focussed view of email allows the creation of email queues, for example a service helpdesk, or a sales enquiries queue. In addition, emails sent from Jim2® can be related to one or more objects.

 

Email Lists

Email Lists are much like other lists within Jim2® except they are always based on an email folder.

 

Security

Security can be set at user or group level.

User Interface

Scheduler


Updated UI

The User Interface ribbon has been updated to the Windows aero style, making it quite familiar to most users.

 

Pop Ups

The new Jim2® Application menu Popup message window has a new design and does not steal focus. Stock select is now much faster (when grouping is set to zero).

 

New Lists

There are now up to 20 lists and pinned lists will auto-run on login and remember previous settings.

 

Cleaner Look

There are now improved skins, and a cleaner interface. The Accounts and Banking tabs have been merged. 

 

Navigation Tree

There is a new Preview Pane, and the Navigation Tree quick close feature has been added.  

New Position

The Scheduler user interface has been enhanced and is now in the ribbon. It now automatically opens on startup.

 

Faster

Speed and responsiveness have been greatly improved.

 

Reminders

There is a new reminder in the lower right hand corner (pop ups are still there as well), and the Task List now shows end date for recurring tasks.

Stock Procurement




Exclude Attributes

It is now possible to exclude stock attributes on stock procurement when that information is not required.

New Filters and Calculation Options

You can filter by purchase and/or job date due, as well as excluding package and kits in sales/transfer figures.

 

Stock Being Held

If you wish to hold stock for, say, 28 days you will be able to see at a glance how much stock you have remaining and how long that will last. You can also see when you have more stock than you wish to hold so that you can sell it off. 

Improvements

Lead times and reorder quantity can now be ignored when doing transfers, and it is no longer possible to order from inactive vendors.

Stock Transfers

It is now possible to Purchase/Transfer in Sell units, and Jim2® now handles new stock with limited sales history.

 

Purchase Orders

Multi-stock select is now available on Purchase Orders.

 

Purchasing Window

Allowance has been made for purchasing window using Min Qty Low/High.  The Reorder Qty is now at location level, with Limit Qty also at a new location level.  You now have the ability to bulk update procurement.

 

Upated UI

The user interface has been updated and displays average monthly sales.

New Job Widget

There is a new Job widget which is a quick way to view job stats over a period.

 

Updated Security

Dashboard security has been updated to be more in-line with the security used in Email Folders.  This allows you to select Users or User Security Groups when defining access to a Dashboard.

New Feature Dispatch

This new feature allows you to create dispatch lists based on invoiced jobs and the method you wish to ship them.

 

Updated Details

Job and invoice details have been updated. The Dispatch form can be found in the ribbon under Jobs > Dispatch.  You can see what is ready to be dispatched by clicking Run on the list.

Debtors/Creditors

Return from Customer


BPAY

There is now a BPAY filter in the Debtors list.   You can quickly find the customer by the BPay number, by using the BPay filter in the Debtors List header.

 

Bulk debtors payments

This is a new feature for importing or bulk entry of debtor’s payments.


Multiple Credits

There is now the ability to select multiple credits to apply to invoices (but not to specific invoices), and remember last payment details, apply multiple credits, as well as view payment transaction details.

Returns

Returns are now allowed from multiple invoices on the one RFC.

 

Returns with No Invoice Number

It is now possible to do returns with no invoice number.

 

There are also new security settings.

Updated GST

GST Sessions have been updated to handle new NZ GST charges, and deferred GST now reports to 7A in the GST Calculation Worksheet Report.

Labour Entry has been redesigned and is now larger, as well as being resizable.

Lists

Cardfiles -

Quick Add


Auto-run
Pinned lists will auto-run on login and remember previous settings.

 

New Lists

There are now up to 20 lists per object, and active list objects are now in blue to differentiate.  Pinned lists will auto-run on login and remember previous settings.

Much Faster Display
All lists now display 60% faster and you are now able to add comments to Finished Jobs.  Dates are now saved as ‘Today’, ‘This Month’, etc.

Extended Character Length

The Quick Add Cardfile name has been extended to 100 characters in length.

Security


Limits Changed

Limits have been removed for bound attributes, and the vendor stock code has been increased to 50 characters.  The stock list now shows Price Group.

 

Multi-Stock Select

Multi-stock select is now possible on transfers and purchases.  Serial numbers can now be automatically capitalised.

 

Auto-Add Consignment Stock

You can now auto-add consignment stock to ‘Consign Buy’ Purchase Orders.

Invoicing Change

It is now possible to invoice when a customer is on auto credit hold.

 

Price Discounts

Stock now allows applying price discounts.

Projects

New Sort Order

Billing is now in lists sort order, and all billing is now done via Jim2®  eBusiness Server (Jes).

 

 

Display and choose Projects when adding Jobs
There is a new option which allows ‘In Job display Projects during Cardfile entry’.

New Billing Periods

New billing periods allow billing in weekly or fortnightly cycles, and you are now able to Add Project in a job when adding that Job.  There are now new columns: name, account manager, customer name.

 

Easier to Locate

Projects are now easier to locate in Project Select. Also added new Prepaid Labour, new Meter Copy Kit, new stock macros for prepaid pages and master machines.

 

New Email and Description Macros

There are now new email and description macros for Page Requests and for Billing Jobs.

There is now only one upgrade file for Jim2® Business Engine, Jim2® Server and Jim2® eBusiness Server (Jes):

More Important Role for Jes

With the new email features, Jes plays a far more important role.  It is now required that an instance of Jes is running for each Jim2® database where you plan to use email.

 

Central Point

The flow of emails has changed in Jim2® so that Jes is the central point for all sending and receiving.
