Murray
Computer & Office Shop (MCOS), who provide information technology
and office product sales, service and support, attributes part of its
expansion and resulting increase in revenue to its business workflow
management system in place – Happen Business’ Jim2® Photocopy Edition.
Murray Computer &
Office Shop sends highly skilled technicians to locations throughout
the Eastern region of South Australia to provide on-site office support
for customers. To monitor the location of technicians and products sold
over the counter, Darryl Gravestocks, Manager of MCOS, changed from the
previous accounting system, Sybiz, to Jim2® from Happen Business which
he felt ‘met the business needs’.
“We were operating
with 17 staff when we implemented Jim2®. Now we’re operating with 14
staff… Jim2® paid for itself in the first twelve months,” says
Gravestocks.
“Jim2® enabled us to
get to where we wanted to be. Our profitability has gone through the roof
because we’ve made that turnover with the same number of staff. It’s
increased our efficiency so much,” he added.
By increasing
revenues and efficiency at MCOS, Jim2® has enabled Gravestocks to make
plans for expansion. “It’s been incredible in terms of efficiency. We
always knew that there was potential for growth, but it was terribly
hard to pin it down to where the water was leaking,” explains
Gravestocks. “There were a lot of holes in the bucket. But we couldn’t
actually identify them all that easily, whereas with Jim2®, we were
able to identify straight away where the problem areas were. We have a
structured business process workflow in place now, saving time and
resources.”
Gravestocks believes
these plans for expansion “wouldn’t be viable” without Happen Business.
All branches will be run under the centralised Jim2® software. Jim2®
will continue to play a key role in Murray Computer & Office Shop
throughout these developments.
When managing the
technician’s uptime and travel, MCOS found that “a lot of information
was being lost between the cracks”. Jim2® allowed Gravestocks to
confirm all details relating to each technician and product for each
job. With an integrated data system and business process management in
place, Gravestocks can now accurately record technician uptime and
stock control.
“As soon as something
is sold here, it comes off the stock. It comes off my balance sheet,
it’s all up to-date, fully integrated and best of all, live, so there’s
no daily updates, no batch processing, it’s just all there. As a total
package it came out in front,” says Gravestocks.
The Jim2® Photocopy
Edition was implemented within a week. Happen Business worked with
MCOS, creating a package that was manageable and reliable for MCOS.
Training was also provided for employees to understand the software
before it was implemented.
